Visual Saturday: Universe in an Egg

Based on the eponymous short story by author Andy Weir, “The Egg” is a gorgeous piece of animation that is as stylishly crafted (by design studio Kurzgesagt) as it is profoundly spiritual in content. “The Egg” builds on the concept of reincarnation and produces a “meaning of life”-narrative that is so coherent and insightful that it should make every Buddhist proud. This is not to say that it is a mere interpretation of religious texts, however. It goes way beyond that. As we learn about the fate of our protagonist (and the inevitability of it), we encounter Jungian archetype psychology, extraterrestrial life and the relativity of time. Everything narrated by a calm voice that only adds to the transcendental quality of the story. Watch it and be inspired!

  1. The next time I read a blog, Hopefully it doesnt fail me just as much as this one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read through, but I actually thought you would have something useful to say. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something that you could fix if you werent too busy searching for attention.
